There are a vast number of different phobias, ranging from fear of being in closed spaces (agoraphobia), fear of spiders, flying, heights, balloons, needles, etc. When you are fearful of something, your natural response is to avoid it. Unfortunately this reinforces your fear. This fear comes from your unconscious mind. Performance anxiety is also included here as a fear (e.g. presenting, exams nerves).
Hypnotherapy 'talks' directly to the unconscious mind and is therefore extremely effective in getting rid of phobias or fears, even those which are severe or long-term.

how many sessions?
The number of sessions required depends upon the severity and type of the phobia or fear and whether there are any other factors which need to be taken into account.
As a guide, simple fears and phobias can require up to 2-5 sessions; whereas social phobias (includes emetophobia, flying phobia) and multiple phobias are generally more difficult to treat and require more sessions. However, sometimes I have success within only one session, as I use the rewind technique, which is the most successful technique for dealing with phobias.
